Overview
Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University is seeking a full-time MD/DO for its Susquehanna Family Practice (QFP) and Gender Wellness Center (GWC) (www.genderwellnesscenter.com).
QFP/GWC has been offering high quality, evidence-based primary care in Oneonta since 1994. In 2007, we began embedding transgender (TG) healthcare into our primary care practice. From 2016-19, members of our interdisciplinary team received leadership training from the RWJ Foundation to create a rural-based center of excellence in TG health (https://www.intechopen.com/chapters/77220). We have served over 1200 transgender/gender diverse (TGD) youth and adults. Our patient population is roughly ¼ TGD patients and ¾ cisgender patients. We have developed an active teaching program in TGD health for healthcare professional students, participate in community-based research projects with the Bassett Research Institute, and continually expand/refine programming that supports the mission and vision of the practice.
