Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a dynamic leader for the role of Associate Chief of Emergency and Trauma Services at Little Falls Hospital in Little Falls, New York and Cobleskill Regional Hospital Campus in Cobleskill, New York.
Bassett's emergency department visits total approximately 82,500 visits annually across our six sites. Little Falls has an annual volume of approximately 18,000 and Cobleskill has an annual volume of approximately 11,500.
The system’s emergency medicine department has a staff of 46 hospital employed full time and per diem Physicians and 42 full time and per diem Advanced Practice Clinicians that provide coverage for the network’s six emergency departments, which have a combined bed capacity of 70 system-wide.
Bassett Medical Center is a STEMI Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center. Bassett is an integrated healthcare system that serves a rural eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in central New York. It is a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University and an affiliate of the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Job Responsibilities
- Associate Chief will report to the Department Chief and will have a home base at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown
- Manage the Little Falls and Cobleskill Regional Campus department’s budget and other financial resources in cooperation with operational leaders.
- Provide visionary leadership to Bassett Emergency Medicine by fostering a culture of excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
- Oversee staffing levels, workflows, and clinical activity to ensure safe, appropriate, and timely patient care.
- Lead critical interdisciplinary collaborations with nursing, care coordination, critical care, hospital medicine, trauma, stroke, and other key stakeholders.
- Assist with recruitment and retention efforts for the six emergency departments, including providing support for the APC Fellowship program.
- Assist with Quality and Patient experience initiatives and patient grievances.

Education and Licensure
- MD/DO or equivalent with current Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- New York State medical license or eligibility for New York State medical license.
