Automatic Cutting Operator

An Automatic Cutting Operator sets up and operates automated cutting machines to cut leather into parts according to specifications. Responsibilities: Reads cutting requests to define job specifications Positions leather onto the table and starts the cutting machine to cut out the required pieces. Loads correct pattern and cutting codes in computer to be cut from work orders. Make sure the leather is cut to specifications. Monitors operation on cutting machine to detect malfunctions and informs supervisor of problems Removes broken or worn cutting blades as needed Separate cut patterns from waste and tie up covers Standing/walking/bending required and lifting up to 50 pounds Qualifications/Skills 6 months or more of experience working as a auto-cutter in a production setting Ability to work well in a team oriented environment Must be 18 years of age or older Apply in person to Bassett Furniture, Inc., 1111 East 20th Street, Newton, NC 28658 or fax resume to 828-465-7792
