The Upholstery Supervisor will be a hands on production supervisor of motion furniture.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities of the work cell to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame.
- Review daily schedule to determine time for completing projects.
- Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of schedule and arranges for assignment of personnel.
- Review and modify schedules or plans as required. Prepare cell reports for management.
- Confers with plant management to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Makes sure all team members specialize on one job but cross trained on others to keep the work flow.
- Make sure all supplies are in the work area for employees to complete the job.
- Enforce company rules and regulations to employees.
- Manage time, attendance and vacation policies of all associates.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in furniture production, preferable motion
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in a supervisory team lead role in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of furniture assembly, processes, quality control and materials
- Understanding of safety regulations and quality standards in furniture manufacturing.
- Ability to resolve conflict and be an effective communicator
- Ability to work well in a team oriented environment
- Must be 18 years of age or older
