What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Laser Specialist - 2nd Shift position at Bass Pro Shops?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Laser Specialist position is responsible for troubleshooting laser machines in the fabrication department. Responsible for set up, programming, working with maintenance lead and equipment vendors/techs. Travel for training on new equipment purchases. Train operators on equipment. Work with Supervisor to figure labor and processes needed to meet daily production rates. Facilitate set up, maintain spreadsheets and machine instructions. Training and proficiency in all auto-nesting programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: Special training classes provided by equipment suppliers
Preferred Degree: Trade, Tech or Vocational Education
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Proficient on all laser-based equipment
Good math skills, proficient in Excel & Word
Willing to travel for training on new equipment
Proficient in auto nesting programs
Self-motivated and able to work with vendors, outfitters and leadership in a professional manner
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional travel for company paid training classes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasionally completes computer work.
Regularly walks, stands, and lifts up to 50lbs.
Seldomly sits.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
