Patient Care Coordinator – Berkeley & Walnut Creek (East Bay)
Join a well-established gastroenterology practice where you’ll play an important role in supporting patient care and keeping daily operations running smoothly. We’re looking for a dependable, organized team member who enjoys working with patients and collaborating with others. This role will split time between our two offices, located in Berkeley and Walnut Creek.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain patient charts and documentation
- Verify insurance and assist with prior authorizations
- Answer calls, respond to messages, and manage incoming faxes
- Schedule procedures and coordinate with surgical centers
- Review and communicate patient results using Epic EHR
- Collect co-pays and assist with account balances
- Provide occasional front desk or call center support
- Assist with additional tasks as needed
- Occasional overtime may be required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience
- Experience with Epic EHR required (GI experience a plus)
- Familiarity with PPO, HMO, and Medicare insurance plans
- Knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology
- Ability to travel between Berkeley and Walnut Creek offices
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay range: $24–$28 per hour, based on experience
- Full-time position (40 hours/week) with occasional overtime
