About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to support purchasing operations, inventory management, and inventory process improvements at Basin.
This role will help ensure parts and materials are properly set up and tracked in Fishbowl, purchasing activities run smoothly, and inventory records remain accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with data and inventory systems, and eager to learn and improve operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination
- Support day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase orders, order tracking, and vendor follow-ups.
- Monitor material availability and help ensure parts and supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and inventory priorities.
Inventory Management & Fishbowl
- Maintain accurate parts and inventory records in Fishbowl.
- Assist with setting up parts correctly and ensuring they are mapped to the appropriate income and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounts.
- Support the development and implementation of a raw metal inventory tracking process in Fishbowl.
- Improve inventory receiving, data entry, and reconciliation processes.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and help maintain accurate inventory counts.
- Assist with documenting and standardizing inventory procedures.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and inventory workflows.
- Maintain organized records and prepare basic inventory and purchasing reports.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders to improve data accuracy and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in purchasing, inventory coordination, warehouse operations, or a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP platforms is a plus.
- Experience with Fishbowl Inventory is a plus, but not required.
- Basic understanding of inventory tracking, purchase orders, and receiving processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, follow established processes, and work independently.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
