TITLE: Industrial Designer II
TYPE: Direct Hire
LOCATION: Aztec, NM
ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Onsite
START DATE: April 2026

We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Designer II to support the design, development, and production of water treatment systems. This role is responsible for creating and updating technical drawings, coordinating with vendors, and contributing to system design and documentation efforts. The position also supports production, sales, and technical training initiatives while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely project execution.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Evaluate, source, and select system components, including analyzing cost and lead times
  • Create, review, and revise technical drawings, including P&IDs and general arrangement layouts
  • Perform system projections (e.g., RO, EDI, and related processes) using manufacturer software and apply results to system design
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings and related documentation
  • Design and contribute to the development of water treatment systems under the direction of engineering leadership
  • Track and communicate component availability, shortages, and project needs
  • Provide ongoing technical support related to system operation, troubleshooting, and product functionality
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
  • Participate in special projects such as custom system builds, product enhancements, and new product development initiatives
  • Develop technical documentation and training materials for customers, distributors, and internal teams
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting appropriate hardware for system applications
  • Communicate feedback and required revisions clearly to support efficient workflow
  • Assist with system assembly and wiring when needed
  • Contribute to the development of sales materials, including presentations, product literature, and marketing visuals
  • Support fabrication efforts by preparing documentation for system assembly, operation, and maintenance
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior design staff
  • Review preliminary designs and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy before final approval

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred; or an Associate degree in a related field with at least 4 years hands-on design experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements
  • Relevant experience in industrial design, engineering support, or a similar technical environment
  • Proficiency with CAD software, including 3D modeling tools
  • Experience interpreting and creating technical drawings and schematics
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Familiarity with design or projection software related to water treatment or similar systems
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of analyzing technical problems and developing practical solutions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel as needed, including maintaining a valid passport if required
