What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Basic Resources, Inc.?
The Accountant will be an integral part of the finance team and will have responsibility for accounting functions for our underwear, loungewear, and intimates business. This position promotes maximum fiscal responsibility, safeguards the Company’s assets and ensures compliance with established accounting standards. Primarily responsible for accounting work in the monthly recording and reporting of financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts
- Prepare reconciliations for assets and liability accounts, including resolving reconciling items in a timely manner
- Research and analyze fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts
- Support Senior Accountant in the monthly closing process
- Prepare the daily and weekly cash reports
- Support the accounts payable process by preparing weekly schedules for review by management
- Participate in external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
- Other ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2 years of Accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (ex. PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Knowledge of SAP a plus
- Strong communication and attention to detail
Annual salary range starting $65,000
