- 21 years of age.
- A bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, or a related field; CTRS preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Auto insurance when transporting youth.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass required background checks, physical, and drug screen.
- Commitment to serving a culturally diverse population.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Advanced recreation management knowledge and skills.
- Knowledge of recreation programs appropriate for the population served.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Willingness to learn high-ropes technical skills and work at height.
- Supervise youth and ensure their safety while following agency policies, regulations, and standards.
- Support individualized treatment plans and daily multidisciplinary programming.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreation interventions.
- Provide recreation feedback to the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage behaviors and use Therapeutic Crisis Intervention as appropriate.
- Build effective relationships with staff, youth, families, and community partners.
- Participate in agency action teams and regular supervision.
- Maintain safe recreation facilities, equipment, and programs.
- Assist with community reintegration activities.
