The Performance Materials division is at the forefront of the much-needed sustainability transformation in plastics. These solutions contribute to a sustainable future by pushing the boundaries in thermal resistance and lightweight applications.
The AQC Tech will assist in all areas of the BASF Cellasto facility in inspection of urethane jounce bumpers. This position will be hands-on manufacturing including interfacing with products and equipment.
With a Customer-First Mindset, under the Cellasto brand name, BASF has been manufacturing and selling polyurethane finished parts and springs of all kinds that are employed in those areas where other materials such as rubber and steel reach their limits. Today, nine out of ten car makers rely on this unique product. Cellasto stands for high-quality, long-lasting components. During your 12-hour shift (day or night) as a AQC Technician, you will
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the AQC machine to ensure products meet quality standards and production rate requirements.
- Perform machine setup, startup, shutdown, and changeovers while verifying production specifications and inspection parameters before and during production runs.
- Follow all plant safety standards and ensure the safe operation of the AQC machine and related equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance activities, and coordinate with maintenance or controls personnel for complex equipment repairs.
- Operate and troubleshoot the BRAD dumper, as well as issues related to the VSU or transport orders that impact AQC production.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records, including the segregation, documentation, and disposition of defective parts in accordance with established procedures.
- Manage packaging requirements by switching between collapsible and box/bin configurations based on the material being processed.
- Verify, tare, and monitor weight scales to ensure accurate production and packaging processes.
- Have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Posess 2 years of inspection or machine operating experience at a chemical plant.
- Can lift 30 lbs. during a shift, standing and walking for extended periods of time and / or climbing stairs (with reasonable accommodation if needed).
- Bring Forklift/HiLo certification is preferred.
