As a Shift Supervisor in the Utilities & Wastewater Department you will…
- Establish, reinforce, and support a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all relevant EHS regulations and procedures/policies.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise individual performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Set goals and objectives of the operations staff of the area.
- Direct and coordinate activities concerned with maintaining stable operations across the Seneca site by performing the duties personally and/or through subordinates.
- Confer with management personnel to establish Utilities and Wastewater service standards.
- Plan and direct Utilities and Wastewater activities and establish priorities for tasks that need to be accomplished.
- Coordinate production activities of the site with purchasing and supply chain to maintain bulk chemical inventories needed to meet site production schedules.
- Review and analyze staffing levels, chemical inventories, Utilities service quality, wastewater compliance, and area maintenance activities.
- Implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Assist in revising area priorities because of equipment failure or operating problems.
- Perform supervisor audit of monthly permits and round sheets and enter any data needed for compliance.
- Maintain compliance of area documents requiring annual review (lockout tagout, SOPs, area forms).
- Consult with engineering personnel to implement last improvement to the Utilities and wastewater processes.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday on an 8-hour shift. Responsible for maintaining at least minimum required staffing levels in the area and may be required to fill an Operator assignment in the event of a last-minute call out.
Serve as a highly trained member of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) and qualify as a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (Hazwoper) Technician, basic first aider, and Incident Commander (IC). Attending Fire School and serving as part of the site Fire Brigade is not required but recommended. -
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience within a manufacturing environment or 1 year of experience in a supervisory/leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Successful previous experience leading large groups of operators. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others
- Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills and excellent math skills.
Obtain a Physical Chemical Wastewater D-level license from the State of South Carolina within 1 year from hire date

The competitive Pay Range for this role is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
