What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Manager for Basecoat and Primer position at BASF Corporation?
As Product Manager for Basecoat and Primer you will set strategic directions for your portfolio in the NA region to enable growth and to improve our profitability. In close collaboration with Technology and Account you will manage product development activities and be responsible for the commercialization of our product solutions. This role sits in our Coating headquarters in Southfield, MI where we are in the office at least 3 days per week.

- Developing and executing the layer strategy for basecoat and primer in the NA region
- Managing prices and margins following our global pricing strategy
- Collecting & analyzing product related market, customer and competitor intelligence
- Collaborating with Technology and Account teams to analyze market demands and to initiate & manage development topics for your portfolio including the launch of new products
- Continuously analyzing the portfolio to initiate and mange measures to optimize product costs
- Reducing complexity via technological synergies between customers, business rules, raw material consolidation, and active product & portfolio pruning.

- Masters degree with several years of professional experience, ideally in the field of marketing, sales or technology within the Coatings industry
- Strong project management skills with proven experience in strategy and pricing
- High experience in commercial and P&L analysis
- Experienced in handling of MS Office, affinity for data analysis
- Teamplayer with excellent communicative abilities in English and an entrepreneurial mindset
