The Senior CAD Engineer is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of post-sale engineering deliverables for low-voltage projects. This role works closely with Sales, Preconstruction, and Operations teams to develop system designs, shop drawings, submittals, bills of materials, and installation documentation for security, access control, structured cabling, voice/data, and related systems.
Skills and Responsibilities

Create and maintain shop drawings, system layouts, installation documents, and as-built drawings.

Develop bills of materials, conformance estimates, and submittal packages based on project requirements.

Review plans, specifications, and sales estimates to ensure accurate project documentation.

Coordinate with Project Managers, Sales, Operations, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage drawing revisions and document control using customer markups and field updates.

Assist with engineering support for change orders and project modifications.

Coordinate with subcontracted engineering resources as needed.

Visit project sites as needed to verify field conditions and support project execution.

Support Sales and Preconstruction teams with technical reviews and system layouts.
Qualifications

3 years of CAD drafting, design, or engineering experience.

Experience with low-voltage systems such as security, access control, structured cabling, CCTV, or related technologies preferred.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Valid Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements

Ability to visit construction sites as needed.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate active job sites.
