The Role: Investment Banking Associate

As an Associate at BaseRock Partners, you will have an opportunity to work alongside our senior bankers, gaining significant hands-on experience across the full spectrum of investment banking services. You will work on live M&A and ESOP transactions for clients across our core E&C sectors, including:

• Contractors
• Construction Materials
• Facility Services
• Engineering & Environmental
• Building Products
• Utility Services

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis & Modeling: Build and maintain detailed financial models to support valuation and transaction structuring, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company, precedent transaction, and leveraged buyout (LBO) analyses.
• Presentation & Marketing Materials: Prepare and draft client deliverables such as pitch books, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), and other marketing materials to support M&A and capital-raising assignments, as well as BaseRock business development efforts.
• Industry & Company Research: Conduct in-depth industry research and company-specific analysis across sub-sectors of the E&C landscape, providing insights to inform valuation, marketing, and transaction execution.
• Transaction Execution: Participate in all aspects of live deal execution, including process management, due diligence support, and the preparation of analyses and client deliverables.

What We Look For

• 2 years of experience as an Investment Banking Analyst or Associate at an established Investment Bank, with live transaction experience.
• Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with proven financial modeling capabilities.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a lean, collaborative, and fast-paced team environment.
• A demonstrated interest in the Engineering & Construction industry is a plus.
