Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety during visits.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or technician.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including monitoring vital signs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' care and treatment plans.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is required.
- Familiarity with animal handling techniques and behavior.
- Knowledge of medication administration, animal husbandry, and basic laboratory procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and their pets.
