What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Processing Technician (Jeep Wrangler Focused Salvage Yard) position at Baseline 4x4 Recyclers Inc?
Position Overview:
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on team member to support our dismantling and production operations. This role focuses on preparing vehicles for dismantling, fluid removal, and general shop support. The ideal candidate is comfortable working around vehicles, using tools, and staying productive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check and document vehicle fluids prior to processing
- Take vehicle photos and record engine videos
- Complete pre-dismantle inspections and checklists
- Safely remove refrigerant and vehicle fluids
- Remove vehicle tops and tagged parts (doors, etc.)
- Cut windshields, frame sections, and vehicle bodies as needed
- Prepare vehicles for dismantlers and stage work bays
- Empty core carts and manage core bins for shipment
- Assist production team with daily workflow as needed
Additional Duties (as needed):
- Break down tires
- Operate floor sweeper in dismantle area
- Empty trash and maintain shop cleanliness
Requirements:
- Ability to work with hand tools and basic cutting equipment
- Comfortable working around vehicles and in a shop environment
- Strong work ethic and ability to stay productive without constant supervision
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stay active throughout the day
- Mechanical aptitude preferred (but not required)
Preferred Experience:
- Automotive, salvage yard, or mechanical experience
- Experience with fluid handling or refrigerant recovery (a plus)
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
