  • Withdrawal Management at Madison Health – Coordinated inpatient services for those needing detox and medical care.
     
  • Family & Community Engagement – Education, support, and resources for loved ones and the wider community.

Job Summary:

To provide peer support services as part of a multi-disciplinary team to persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse problems. Service provision will focus on working with patients to enhance their recovery. Service is provided to individuals or groups.

Core Responsibilities:

  • To provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support.
  • Meet with PLUS Housing residents weekly to review recovery plans and document progress.
  • To provide training in the use of personal and community resources.
  • Assist in developing formal and informal community support. 
  • Assist the person served in increasing social support networks of relatives, friends and/or significant others.
  • To offer encouragement in times of crisis.
  • To advocate on behalf of persons with behavioral health problems to protect the patient’s rights and to assist in reducing associated stigma.
  • To work in cooperation with other providers, family members or significant others involved in the patient’s recovery plan.
  • To attend staff meetings, case conferences and individual/group supervision.
  • To attain established standards of productivity.
  • To observe all rules of confidentiality relating to clinical information and treatment, both internally and when dealing with external agencies/individuals.
  • To be responsible for understanding patients' rights policy and procedures.
  • To participate in staff training and development.
  • To serve on designated committees within the agency. 
  • To maintain professional standards at all times.
  • To observe the guidelines established within the Code of Ethics and Conduct. 
  • To perform other related duties as assigned. 
  • Responsible for understanding the Housing Manual.
Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (Adult)

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work well with others
  • Familiarity with Franklin County resources
