SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The IT Support Specialist provides technical support to internal users across the organization. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT systems and equipment, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the company’s technology infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the following:
- Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for users via phone, email, or in-person.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware (desktops, servers, laptops, printers, phones) and software applications.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory, Office 365, Google Workspace, and other platforms.
- Set up and maintain workstations, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding of employees with IT setup and deactivation.
- Monitor and respond to service desk tickets in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures, including data security best practices.
- Document processes, solutions, and updates in the IT knowledge base. Provide training or guidance to users as needed on basic technology use.
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, preferred
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support role.
- Experience working with Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is a plus.
- Previous experience supporting remote users and resolving issues via remote desktop tools.
