Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
- Evaluating housing maintenance and management costs, developing long term housing planning requirements.
- Advising housing staff and officers on possible approaches to resolving housing management problems.
- Assisting in management and operation of housing facilities.
- Reviewing, investigating and developing responses to inquiries relative to housing issues.
NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Responsibilities:
You will serve as an Area Housing Officer and be responsible for providing oversight and administration of housing management activities and long range planning activities for government owned, leased and unaccompanied personnel facilities. You will also be responsible for setting project priorities, program goals, establishing work deadlines, and providing guidance to staff.

- Evaluating housing maintenance and management costs, developing long term housing planning requirements, and briefing this information by creating reports and charts.
- Reviewing, investigating and developing responses to congressional inquiries relative to area housing issues. Reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations to Local Housing Officers on housing management functions and preparing responses to improve performance/effectiveness as necessary.
- Advising housing staff and officers on possible approaches to resolving housing management problems.
- Supervising civilian and military employees by setting goals, establishing work deadlines, and providing guidance in support of housing program policies
