Responsibilities:
You will serve as a Plumber and be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance (PM/CM) on plumbing, electrical and air conditioning, HVAC, as well as a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Following sketches, specifications, guides, codes, verbal orders, and supervisory instructions to complete all maintenance, improvement, and repair work associated with water distribution, filtration and plumbing systems, sanitary and storm-water drainage systems and their associated components.
- Assembling, installing, maintaining and pressure testing all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
- Carrying out repair, maintenance, or installation of equipment for the generation, utilization, or distribution of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) systems.
- Troubleshooting the sources of plumbing and HVAC malfunctions and completing repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
