Position Overvi

ewBascom Hunter is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team. This in-person role will focus on the design, development, and management of turbomachinery, compressors, electric motors, generators and marine propulsion for Aerospace & Defense applications. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance systems that meet demanding operational and environmental requirement

• tiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, aero, electrical, and systems engineers, to develop technical solutions and integrated syst
• ems.Perform design, analysis, system integration, and validation testing for power and propulsion systems products, including turbomachinery, compressors, generators, marine outboard engines, motors, and propuls
• ors.Develop technical specifications, system requirements, and design documentation in accordance with Aerospace & Defense standa
• rds.Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to track progress, resolve issues, and communicate project sta
• tus.Support prototype fabrication, instrumentation, testing, and qualification activit
• ies.Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecy
• cle.Maintain strict adherence to industry regulations, military standards, and company quality proces

Required Qualifica

• tionsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical f
• ield.3 years of engineering experience, preferably in Aerospace & Defense Indu
• stry.Experience managing engineering projects from concept through deli
• very.Strong technical knowledge in thermal systems, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, or mechanical systems de
• sign.Familiarity with manufacturing methods, such as casting, forging, stamping, welding, CNC machining, EDM, and additive manufact
• uringProficiency in engineering tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equiva
• lent.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational sk
• ills.U.S. Citizenship required (due to DoD contract requireme
