RF Test Technician
Location: O’Fallon, MO
We are seeking a skilled RF Test Technician to support the development, debugging, and testing of advanced RF and microwave circuits at the board level. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with RF hardware, proficiency with industry-standard test equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot complex circuits in a fast-paced defense and aerospace environment.
Bascom Hunter provides solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets across various disciplines. Our Defense Electronics Group currently provides products and services across four product lines: Advanced Systems, RF Front Ends, Mixed Signal and Digital Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform board-level testing, validation, and debugging of RF and microwave circuits, including up/down converters, amplifiers, filters, and related subsystems.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate RF test equipment including network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.
- Document test results, identify failures, and assist engineering teams with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design and production engineers to support prototype bring-up, design validation, and transition to production.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and checklists in accordance with engineering and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace/defense standards and internal quality assurance processes
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as an RF Test Technician or equivalent.
- Candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered if they hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with coursework in RF/microwave systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with RF and/or microwave board-level circuits.
- Proficiency with RF test equipment (network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of RF safety and laboratory best practices.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Skills
- Experience in aerospace or defense electronics environments.
- Familiarity with automated test setups and scripting (LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or similar).
- Understanding of RF front-end components and system-level integration challenges.
