What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIALS & LOGISTICS COORDINATOR position at Bascom Hunter Technologies?
The Materials & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving activities in support of engineering and production. This role ensures materials are available, accurate, and properly controlled to meet program and production requirements.
This position works closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Production and is expected to take ownership of material flow, inventory accuracy, and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stockroom Operations
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all parts, materials, and components
- Monitor stock levels and ensure material availability to support project and production needs
- Lead cycle counts and physical inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain an organized, controlled stockroom environment with clear material identification and traceability
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials, including sensitive or controlled items
Shipping & Receiving
- Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments, including inspection, documentation, and system transactions
- Verify received materials against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies with vendors
- Coordinate packaging, shipping methods, and carriers to meet delivery requirements
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable shipping regulations
Material Coordination & Procurement Support
- Create and track purchase requisitions as needed to support material demand
- Monitor open orders and communicate risks, delays, or shortages
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve delivery and quality issues
Engineering & Production Support
- Partner with Engineering to understand material requirements and timelines
- Support BOM tracking and ensure materials are available for builds, testing, and production
- Generate and support work orders tied to inventory and production activities
- Stage materials to support production schedules
Systems & Processes
- Maintain accurate and timely transactions in ERP/MRP system
- Ensure all material movements are properly documented and traceable
- Identify and implement improvements to inventory control, material flow, and warehouse processes

Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in inventory, warehouse, or materials management

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support fast-paced operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with shipping and receiving operations and logistics coordination
- Familiarity with electronic or mechanical components
- Experience supporting engineering or production teams
- Understanding of BOMs and material planning processes
