Essential Functions: · Identifying and vetting prospective carriers to build a pipeline of service providers.· Gathering information from clients to determine their shipping needs.· Providing customers with shipping quotes.· Booking freight service through carriers for clients.· Coordinating the logistics carrier pick-up and delivery of shipments.· Monitoring the progress of shipments to ensure that goods arrive promptly and undamaged.· Updating transportation management software to keep client records accurate.· Updating customers on the status of shipments and assisting with other inquiries· Maintaining current knowledge of market trends in the transportation marketplace.· Advising clients on potential supply chain issues.· Follows all company policies and procedures. SKILLS & ABILITIES College degree preferred in a business administration acumen and/or minimum of two years of experience in freight logistics coordinator position.2 years of work experience in a similar role, desirable.Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment.Established book of business preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites.Excellent problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Outstanding interpersonal skills.Highly professional demeanor.Proficient negotiating skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:· Ability to sit at desk for majority of workday at computer.· Ability to lift, move and carry 5-10 lbs. of office equipment.· Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed primarily in a sedentary setting within a professional office environment.
