Job Description:
As a Store Associate, you will play a vital role in maintaining the tradition of excellent service that Basalious Corner Store is known for. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers, operating the cash register, stocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, and performing kitchen duties. If you're excited to help create delicious food and provide excellent service, this position is for you!
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate the cash register and handle cash/credit transactions
- Stock shelves and ensure the store is fully stocked and organized
- Maintain store cleanliness (including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal)
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Assist in receiving and organizing inventory deliveries
- Prepare food items in the kitchen (e.g. pizza, hot dogs, BBQ, sandwiches, etc.)
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure health and safety standards are met
- Support kitchen staff during busy times, helping with food prep and service
Qualifications:
- Previous retail, customer service, or kitchen experience is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Flexible availability (especially weekends)
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Must be comfortable working in a kitchen environment
Schedule:
- Part-time position with flexible hours (e.g., weekends and evenings)
- Shifts range from 6 am - 8 pm (includes a rotating Saturday shift!)
