What you'll do:
- Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to diverse interests, abilities, and cognitive levels of residents
- Coordinate special events and recreational therapy sessions to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Assist residents with participation in activities, ensuring safety and encouragement throughout each session
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to integrate activities into individual care plans and support residents’ personal goals
- Manage activity supplies, equipment, and scheduling to ensure smooth operation of daily programs
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment by encouraging resident involvement and facilitating meaningful interactions
- Document participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness
Requirements
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and senior care best practices
- Background in caregiving or long-term care with familiarity in home & community care environments
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly
- Compassionate approach with understanding of aging issues counseling and social work principles
- Prior experience working with people with disabilities or in recreational therapy is highly desirable
