POSITION SUMMARY:
Design Specialist 2 is considered a design position with experience in more than a few technical areas. This person will lead the design and implementation in most areas of technology. This person will be responsible for budget, schedule, and some project management responsibilities. This position receives some guidance from the Technology Designer to complete and prioritize tasks. The Design Specialist must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres and understands bid laws
- Manages Building Connected and bidding processes from initial design to subcontractor agreements
- Designs projects beginning at the schematic design complete through final bid documentation
- Controls change management and all documents
- Writes and modifies bid specifications in technology areas of strength
- Coordinates with the construction schedule for successful project implementation
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (*Essential Requirements):
- Technicial knowledge in multiple areas of technology
- Intermediate skills in MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint*
- Intermediate skills in Bluebeam, Box, SAP, Textura, Building Connected
- Intermediate ability to read drawings and specifications*
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Basic math/accounting skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team.*
- Effective time management, organization skills and attention to detail*
- Ability to identify, track, and complete work tasks in a timely manner
WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB CONDITIONS:
This job may be performed in the office or on the jobsite and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be
repetitive motions of the hands and wrists. The person performing this job must be able to navigate the jobsite and is expected to be able to comply with all safety regulations in the office and on the jobsite.
