Position Description: Athletic Department employees are responsible for completing duties and tasks assigned to him/her to aid in the following; weight room and wellness center monitors, daily office routine, monitoring main gym, monitorin kirkman activity center, aiding in helping run home athletic events at Barton Community College, and ensuring all areas within the athletic department are clean. All student employees will verify appropriate students/athletes use of facilities and make sure all facility users comply with rules/regulations, and perform any other job duties as assigned by the supervisor. Position Responsibilities: 40.00% - Supervision of Athletic Deparment facility users 35.00% - Basic office work and duties assigned by direct supervisor, athletic director and assistant athletic director 10.00% - Cleaning of the athletic department facilities 5.00% - Aiding during home athletic events 5.00% - Assisting users with proper usage of machinery 5.00% - Peforms other duties as needed or assigned Expectations: Student will be able to monitor athletic department facility usage, understand confidentiality in work, and be a dependable, strong, independent worker. Positive attitude and willingness to perform any task assigned.
Student will assist users in proper usage of machinery and will maintain and clean all athletic department facilities Ticket taking at home athletic events, aiding during events, and preparation/clean up. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Previous experience and/or knowledge of facilities, computers, weight equipment/machines is preferred. Alphabetizing, filing and computer skills. Education - Enrolled in applicable Barton credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters Other Skills - Knowing when to ask questions and seek assistance with a task Physical Requirements: The work requires moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing, repetitively lifting lightweight objects with frequent bending or stooping, recuriring lifting of moderately heavy items such as computer printers or record boxes.
Occassionally lifts heavy objects (over 50 pounds). Job requires average agility and dexterity. Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom. Wages/Other: This position pays $9.00 an hour.
