Barton Community Colleges Educational Opportunity Center (TRIO) project
seeks applications for a Coordinator/Academic Advisor working out of the
Great Bend office. This grant funded, replacement position is
responsible for assisting participants in overcoming obstacles to
increase the number of disadvantaged students completing secondary
education and entering post-secondary educational institutions. This
position will require frequent daytime travel to build and maintain
relationships with partner agencies as well as weekly trips to local
correctional facilities to aid incarcerated individuals with their
educational goals. Required qualifications: Bachelors degree and valid
drivers license required; Masters preferred. Previous experience in
working with adult populations in a higher education setting; strong
written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to work
productively as part of a team; strong organizational and multitasking
skills; and attention to detail. Preferred qualifications include:
Experience with vocational and academic advisement/counseling; knowledge
of admissions, financial aid, and other related processes and experience
working with individuals from disadvantaged populations. Excellent
