This position is eligible for up to a $40,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance up to $15,000 plus 30 days of housing. Contact Human Resources at 907-796-8418 for details.
Pay Information:
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires: This position starts at $128,689.60 annually and up depending on experience. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
Job Summary:
The Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all laboratory and histology operations, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, transfusion services, pathology support, point-of-care testing, and phlebotomy. This role ensures accurate, timely, and cost-effective diagnostic testing while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The director collaborates with medical staff, nursing, and organizational leadership to support patient care, optimize laboratory services, and advance quality and safety initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in medical laboratory science, biology or related field
Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in clinical laboratory testing, non-waived testing environments or similar. Two (2) years of supervisory experience
License(s): None
Certification(s): ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
