Preferences: Preference will be given to candidates with Cardiac Sonography (Echo) experience.
Pay Information:
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.

- Diagnostic Sonographer 2 starts at $46.11 per hour
- Diagnostic Sonographer 3 starts at $48.13 per hour
- Diagnostic Sonographer 4 starts at $50.07 per hour
Job Summary:
Diagnostic Sonographer 1: The Diagnostic Sonographer (US) Tech 1 is a developmental role for new graduates or technologists new to Ultrasound. Work is performed under close supervision and follows established protocols. A Diagnostic Sonographer (US) Tech 1 learn to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality.
Diagnostic Sonographer 2: The Diagnostic Sonographer (US) Tech 2 performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations independently within their registered specialty areas. Incumbents are competent, credentialed professionals who ensure that sonographic data is accurate, complete, and of diagnostic quality to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
Diagnostic Sonographer 3: The Diagnostic Sonographer (US) Tech 3 is an advanced-level technologist competent in multiple modalities and capable of providing technical guidance, training, and quality oversight. This role functions with minimal supervision and serves as a resource for other staff.
Diagnostic Sonographer 4: The Diagnostic Sonographer (US) Tech 4 is an expert-level sonographer with advanced competency in cardiac and vascular imaging and recognized as a clinical leader in the department. This position acts as the supervisor in their absence.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Diagnostic Sonographer 1:
Education: Completion of an accredited sonography program
Experience: None
Preferred Experience: Previous customer service preferred
License(s): None
Certification(s): ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire
Diagnostic Sonographer 2:
Education: Completion of an accredited sonography program
Experience: Six (6) Months Experience
Preferred Experience: Hospital experience preferred
License(s): None
Certification(s): ARDMS certification
Diagnostic Sonographer 3:
Education: Completion of an accredited sonography program
Experience: One (1) Year Ultrasound experience
License(s): None
Certification(s): ARDMS certification, BLS, registered in adult echo or two non-cardiac specialties and competent in vascular
Diagnostic Sonographer 4:
Education: Completion of an accredited sonography program
Experience: Three (3) Year’s Ultrasound experience
License(s): None
Certification(s): ARDMS certification, BLS, registered in adult echo or two non-cardiac specialties and competent in vascular
