Pay Information:
Internal Offers: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable personnel rules or union contract terms.
External Offers: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
- Accountant 1 starts at $3,033.60 biweekly.
- Accountant 2 starts at $3,188.80 biweekly.
- Accountant 3 starts at $3,615.20 biweekly.
Job Summary:
Accountant 1: The Accountant 1 performs entry-level professional accounting work to support the organization’s financial operations. Assists the accounts payable, payroll review, bank reconciliations, and audit preparation. Work focuses on learning the organization’s accounting systems, processes, and compliance with GAAP and healthcare finance standards.
Accountant 2: The Accountant 2 performs full-range professional accounting work including statistical, cost, and financial analyses; journal entries; and reconciliation of complex accounts. Participates in budget planning, fixed asset tracking, and capital project accounting. This role coordinates closely with CBJ Finance counterparts.
Accountant 3: The Accountant 3 performs advanced, complex accounting functions and provides leadership for the organization’s accounting team. Oversees daily operations in collaboration with the Controller, including payroll and A/P accounting, audit preparation, and cost report workpapers. Leads process improvements and staff development initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Accountant 1
Education: Associates degree in accounting or finance.
Substitution: Experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: One (1) year of journey-level accounting, budgeting, or financial management experience.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in healthcare finance.

Accountant 2
Education: Associates degree in accounting or finance.
Substitution: Experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
Experience: One (1) year of professional-level accounting, budgeting, or financial management experience.
Substitution: Two (2) years of journey-level accounting or a bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in healthcare finance.

Accountant 3
Education: Associates degree in accounting or finance.
