Front Counter Staff - Fitness

JOB SUMMARY: The Health Club front counter staff is responsible for checking in members and recording fees and attendance numbers, answering the phone and taking messages, scheduling racquetball times, data entry, cash handling and daily balancing of money.  Additional duties include keeping towel supply stocked, and general cleanliness of all areas of the health club.  This is an at-will position.

Other responsibilities and duties include:

• Responsible for having an in depth understanding of the LIFECENTER programs and promotions.
• Greet all guests, check members in to the LIFECENTER, assist new members and collect payment.
• Process memberships and photo ID cards, process credit card payments, close out LIFECENTER batches and balance money and issue receipts.
• Provide a high level of personalized attention to the LIFECENTER members while on the floor; answering questions regarding equipment usage, memberships, promotions, and LIFECENTER amenities.
• Maintain constant visibility on the workout floor.
• Educate members on proper technique and usage of the exercise equipment.
• Properly conduct all initial procedures for New/Renewal members and personal training.
• Maintain positive workout environment through customer service relations.
• Maintain everyday upkeep of the LIFECENTER customer service desk, locker rooms, and exercise floor.
• Maintain the cash bank in the register and inform the manager if additional change is needed.
• Answer phones, refer calls or take messages and give out correct information concerning the LIFECENTER. 
• Schedule racquetball court times.
• Be available and willing to substitute for other staff when necessary and when schedule permits.
• Assist with Park District special events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position will also attend district-wide, part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age and have good customer service skills.  This position requires strong basic math skills and the ability to communicate well via written, verbal, and/or computer.  Must be CPR/AED and first aid certified or able to attain certification.  Basic knowledge of proper training techniques in equipment and exercise instruction, and safety standards. 

SCHEDULE & PAY: We are looking for the perfect individual to work our 7AM - 12:30PM shift on Saturday mornings and every other Sunday, 8AM - 12:30PM. Starting hiring range is between $15.00 - $16.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications.
