Position Title: Marina Dock Attendant
Position Summary
The Marina Dock Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Shelter Island Marina. This role supports the upkeep of marina facilities and provides exceptional service to guests, ensuring a positive and seamless experience on the water.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain a clean shop/yard.
- Carry out duties as assigned to support marina operations.
- Operate portable submersible pumps to remove water from boats and floats.
- Maintain cleanliness of docks; remove trash, debris, and hazards.
- Assist customers with gear on ramps.
- Collect and clean dock carts and boxes.
- Coil hoses and keep walkways tidy and unobstructed.
- Wipe down benches, railings, and other surfaces.
- Prep and paint dock furniture (wood and metal).
- Perform basic repairs to facilities, including docks, cleats, hose bibs, lighting, and utilities.
- Support general maintenance of the marina office.
- Identify and report safety or environmental hazards to the supervisor.
- Stock marina store merchandise
Qualifications & Skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and customer-service oriented.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Able to lift, carry, and move moderate loads.
- Basic maintenance or handyman skills are a plus.
- Be able to safely operate a variety of power tools.
