Primary Objective of Sales Manager Position
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the hotel’s sales efforts by directing and developing the sales team, driving total revenue performance, and strengthening market positioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the sales team
- Set sales goals, strategies, and action plans aligned with the hotel’s business plan.
- Drive new business development while maintaining select key accounts.
- Oversee sales forecasting, pacing, and budgeting to support revenue and operational decisions.
- Partner with the Director of Catering to maximize group, meetings, and catering revenue.
- Coach, develop, and hold the sales team accountable for performance and results.
- Approve rate strategies, proposals, and RFP responses using revenue management principles.
- Ensure effective internal communication of client and event requirements.
- Participate in prospecting, networking, trade shows, and sales initiatives.
- Conduct competitive analysis and maintain market awareness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships within the local business and civic community.
- Associate’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of hotel sales experience with leadership responsibility preferred.
