Job Description: Mechanical Engineer Intern Location: Flagstaff, AZ (this is an in-person position) Department: Engineering Compensation: $20/hour Position Summary: The Mechanical Engineer Intern will assist the Mechanical Engineering team with engineering change requests (MCRs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), engineering support, emergency response tasks (ERT), and design changes. The intern will also complete small purchase-order-driven engineering projects. Schedule: About 8 hours per week during school with some flexibility and 40 hours per week during holiday periods. Key Responsibilities: Support completion of MCRs and NCRs. Assist with design changes and engineering support tasks using Solidworks and PDM. Complete small engineering projects, as assigned. Collaborate with team members on ad-hoc projects. Qualifications: Availability throughout the school year; ideally not graduating for at least one year from start date. Strong SolidWorks capability demonstrated through tool test. Fundamental understanding of algebra and statistical concepts. Ability to apply logical thinking to solve basic engineering problems and interpret technical data. Work Environment & Physical Demands: Primarily office-based near a manufacturing facility. Occasional exposure to noise, vibrations, or odors from the production area. Requires adherence to safety protocols and PPE when entering the manufacturing floor.
