Job Description: The Manufacturing Engineering Technician may plan, research, develop, and perform manufacturing engineering assignments including, process planning, creating and updating standards, and methods improvement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Contribute to facility transformation, technology transfer and ongoing maintenance of mixed model manufacturing and/or value streams. Ensure ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by implementing policies, procedures, and process documentation. Implement demand driven principles and strategies that support operational excellence and long-range plans. (Flexibility, Speed & Responsiveness) Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for costing of new products and special projects. Use continuous improvement tools to implement process improvements that will reduce cycle time, process variation, defects, changeover time, and lead times. Participate in area layouts, process definition, and fixture implementation. Act as an advocate between Design Engineering and Operations. Act as an Infor XA Super User within functional area as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred or 3-5 years related technical experience. Experience using Infor XA or equivalent ERP system. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements. Proficient in Microsoft Office. LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not directly supervise other team members.
