Job Description:
PCMC has several Machinist job openings on 2nd shift, Monday – Thursday. We are seeking technically skilled individuals experienced in setting up and running some or all horizontal and vertical machining centers, lathes, mills, boring bars, and grinders.
Responsibilities:
- Produce parts to print holding tight tolerances while working to production schedules.
- Perform machining operations on manual and CNC machine tools.
- Inspect completed and in-process work.
- Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Inspect machine parts to ensure they meet proper size, shape, or tolerance specs using micrometers and other measuring tools and devices.
- Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
- Maintain safety by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Some positions require CNC programming.
Qualifications:
- A technical degree/certificate and 1-2 years of experience, or 4-5 years of machining experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC machining, machine tooling and fixturing, set-up, operation of CNC machines and preventive maintenance.
- CNC programming experience required for some positions.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time.
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. regularly or occasionally.
- Walk, stand, or otherwise move about continuously.
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require personal protective equipment.
- Grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
