Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Electrical Assembler performs electrical assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and testing operations on moderate to complex hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
SUMMARY
There are 3 grades in the Electrical/Electronics Technician classification with each grade advancement being inclusive of the prior in the sequence. Preceding advancement to the next grade, team members are required to actively participate in the safety process, have a clean work record clear of any disciplinary actions for 12 months, and have a promotion recommendation by their respective lead and supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manor
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

- Demonstrate proper use of all safety equipment through everyday use and practice
- Perform material handling duties (part identification and handling, loading trucks, basic rigging)
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools related to machine building
- Perform duties as assigned by lead or supervisor
- Attend all required team and company meetings
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area through continuous 7S efforts
- Read and interpret basic wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions
- Label, wire and connect switch boxes and control panel terminal boards from basic wiring diagrams
- Assemble basic electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, and wiring
- Check wiring for proper coding and termination; check for shorts, grounds, and continuity
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of 3-phase wiring (polarity of each leg)
- Assist in dismantling and preparing final products for customer shipment
- Ability to work independently with supervision (self-starter/self-motivated)
- Assist higher-level Assemblers in the assembly process
- Provide input on quality, cost, and production issues
- Assist in the detection of defective material, unusual conditions, and report to supervisor
- Comprehension of machine building tasks utilizing common shop standard practices
- Develop a basic understanding of lean principals
- Display capability to identify and differentiate electrical fittings (metric vs. standard), flex conduit vs. EMT vs. rigid
- Assembles j-boxes, op stations and panels for multiple product lines
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, and wiring

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent. Advanced blueprint/schematic reading. Military, trade school or community college coursework in mechanical/electrical assembly, repair, and troubleshooting desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to: see and assess drawings, photos, and written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals (forklifts, cranes, machine alarms, etc.); and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be willing and able to
- have full range of body movement: head, neck, shoulders; lift arms overhead; work overhead; reach, lift, push/pull, walk, climb, kneel, bend; good dexterity and range of movement in fingers, hands and wrists
- sit for at least three hours
- stand on feet for at least three hours
- repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
- maintain confidence and balance while working on ladders up to 12 feet tall
EMPLOYEE EQUIPMENTMust be able to provide an assortment of tools in a rollaway toolbox and steel-toed boots.
