Because it is closely linked to the technological, social, and cultural changes rapidly changing our world, communication is a versatile major at Barry University that provides students various ways to pursue their interests and career goals.
Our programs reflect the breadth of the communication discipline with majors in Communication & Media Studies, Advertising and Public Relations, and Television and Digital Media. We also offer minors in each of these areas and an interdisciplinary minor in journalism that combines classes in graphic design, photography, English writing, and communication.

Barry University in Miami Shores invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach Communication and Media Studies courses including topics such as organizational, interpersonal, and race & gender.
Applicants should hold a master’s degree or equivalent in Communication or a related field, with teaching experience at the college level preferred. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, engaging students in active learning, and assessing academic performance.

Essential Functions
- Produce a comprehensive syllabus.
- Create, administer and evaluate exams, papers and projects.
- Employ appropriate academic online resources (e.g., Canvas, etc.).
- Schedule at least one office hour per week, per course section, to address students’ questions, issues, concerns, etc.
