Qualified applicant must have minimum of high school diploma or GED. Post-secondary education is preferred.
The successful candidate will serve as an educational assistant in an alternative school environment and will work under the directive of the principal and/or teacher(s) to carry out the tasks and goals for the students he/she serves. Additional training may be required.
This is a 180-day position with insurance and retirement benefits. Pay rate will be determined by education completed, experience, and placement on the Hourly Classified Salary Schedule. For applicants with less than a 2-year degree (or coursework equivalent), the appropriate grade is Grade 1, with a starting rate of pay of $14.33 per hour. For those with at least 2-year degree (or coursework equivalent), the appropriate grade is Grade 3, with a starting rate of pay of $14.65 per hour.
