Position Overview
We at Barry Equipment are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. In this outside sales role, you will be responsible for driving sales of new and used heavy construction, forestry, and related equipment across Eastern Massachusetts. You will build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, municipalities, forestry operators, and other customers in this high-growth territory.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional who thrives in a territory-based role, enjoys face-to-face customer interactions, and has a passion for heavy equipment and the industries we serve.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment, construction, forestry, or industrial machinery sales (2 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment types (e.g., excavators, wheel loaders, compact track loaders, forestry attachments, paving equipment) and their applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational abilities — comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (company vehicle provided).
- Ability to travel daily within assigned territory, with occasional travel to the Webster, MA location and other areas as needed.
- Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or related field preferred.
