Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel/Heavy Equipment Road Technician to join our team. This role involves traveling to client sites to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment and diesel engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to client locations to inspect and repair heavy equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, forestry equipment and other machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using computerized testing equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, lubrication, and part replacements.
- Interpret diagnostic test results accurately and develop effective repair plans.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used.
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics or related field preferred.
- Valid Class B CDL driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment systems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
