The Academy Chef, Chicago Chocolate Academy reports to the North America Lead Chef, and is
responsible for supporting the North America vision by leveraging the five Academy pillars : Customer
Journey, Multibrand Focus, Market Segment Penetration, Sales Training, and Digital.
The Academy Chef, Chicago Chocolate Academy helps manage the operations of the Chocolate Academy in
close collaboration with the North America Gourmet Lead Chef. The Academy Chef acts as an inclusive and inspiring
leader in the chef community by engaging, enriching and growing the chef community while supporting the
Sales' team in strategic projects leading to increasing brand awareness, sales volumes, and profitability.
Key responsibilities include :
- Inclusive and inspiring leader within the chef community. This includes leveraging our brands' presence through digital, and initiating creative collaborations with key influencers in the region.
- Inspire the chef community by developing creative applications with Barry Callebaut's gourmet brands in close collaboration with the North American Academy team to promote our brands in the priority Segments.
- Develop collaborations with industry partners (i.e. schools, sponsors, and professional organizations) to inspire chefs and increase brand awareness.
- Develop proposals for events, demonstrations, and masterclasses to grow our network and inspire chefs.
- Host events, demonstrations, courses and one-on-one customer sessions at the Academy, promoting our brands based on Brand and Segment priorities.
- In close collaboration with the Sales team, the Academy Chef supports the customer journey. This includes visiting customers to provide technical support and further their knowledge of our products, supporting the Sales team with product and application samples for key customers, training the Barry Callebaut sales team and distributors' sales team on our Gourmet Brands.
- Integral member of the North America Academy Chef team, and works in collaboration with the chef teams in NYC, Montreal & Mexico to contribute to North America Academy initiatives.
- Collaborates with the North America Lead Chef, by overseeing the maintenance of tools, ingredients, and equipment while staying within budget.
- Develops and nurtures sponsorships / partnerships with ingredient suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and food service institutions to support Academy operations.
