Currently there is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Production Planner to join the team with Barrios, a teammate company.

Responsibilities:

The Technical Production Planner II will:

  • Gather qualitative and quantitative status updates directly from production technicians.
  • Translate shop-floor updates (e.g., actual hours worked, standard yield rates, technical roadblocks) into accurate lead-time projections and schedule revisions.
  • Perform continuous Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis within project scheduling software to identify schedule drivers, calculate total float, and pinpoint bottlenecks before they delay delivery.
  • Own, maintain, and optimize the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Enterprise Scheduling Software (Primavera P6), ensuring standard sequencing, logic ties, resource loading, and constraint management.
  • Facilitate look-ahead meetings to proactively identify supply chain or labor constraints threatening the critical path. Develop recovery plans accordingly.
  • Generate clear visual health metrics (e.g., Schedule Variance, Burn-down charts) derived directly from scheduling software for program managers and leadership.
Qualifications:

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of applicable experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal) and the ability to interface with various customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently on a dynamic development program.
  • Excellent data gathering, attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to take initiative in completing tasks with minimal management direction.
  • Production planning or scheduling experience within an aerospace manufacturing, defense, or high-complexity assembly environment (AS9100 familiarity preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency and hands-on experience with project scheduling software and strong Excel data modeling skills.
  • Deep understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) as applied within enterprise planning software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building trust with floor technicians and communicating technical schedule risks to management

Preferences:

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera P6 is highly preferred, as it serves as our primary scheduling platform.
  • PMI-SP Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with very large, complex project schedules.
  • Experience working in Human Space Flight programs.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
  • Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
  • Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
