Lead and exemplify the professionalpractices and responsibilities of a Professional Learning Community to fostercollaboration and communication to ensure all students are successful.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Acts under the policies established by the School Committee in all matters pertaining to theassigned building(s), including any tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal2.

Lead professional learning around proactive social and emotional behavioral strategies toensure all students success3. Monitor student attendance, including identifying, supporting and meeting with families andschool staff to support chronically absent students4. Supervise the creation and implementation of student attendance plans5. Meet regularly with student groups around social media, positive behavioral responses andregular attendance6.

Meet regularly with student leadership groups (Student Council, Ambassadors, etc.) to discussstudent behaviors, attendance, social media use, etc.7. Collaborate with the SRO, as needed, on issues related to supporting student safety.8. Be prepared to respond to student behavioral issues as they arise and investigate and follow-upon bullying-related incidents9. Lead schoolwide initiatives around restorative justice practices to support students andmaintain student accountability10.

Promote student agency and collaboration in school climate initiatives11. Lead the office staff in planning daily teacher coverage needs12. Supervise and monitor student congestion areas, including daily bus drop-off and pick-up,hallways and bathrooms and the student parking lot13. Supervising daily after-school detention and assigning coverage for any In-school suspension asneeded14.

Provide daily lunch supervision15. Coordinate, plan and manage AP test ordering and administration and assist with other statetesting administration requirements as needed.16. Share the caseload of student 504 plans between building administrators to monitor, implementand communicate student 504 plans17. Work collaboratively with building administrators to supervise and evaluate certified staff asneeded18.

Works with all building and District staff to develop and maintain a positive school climateconducive to effective learning and optimum teaching and characterized by a common purpose,mission, vision, and high expectations and success for all.19. Supports the full inclusion of all learners in all aspects of the school committee, championing thebelief that all students can achieve at high levels20. Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individualsto foster understanding and solicit support for school objectives and programs; interpretsSchool Committee policies and administrative directives; resolves student problems; encouragescommunity participation in the schools educational program.21. Assists in the selection of personnel and recommends personnel appointments and assignmentsto the Principal.22.

Submits reports as required by the Superintendent, Principal and other local, regional or stateagencies.23. Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professionalmeetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems ofmutual interest with others in the field.24. Reflect on practice and assume responsibility for their own professional development by activelyseeking and participating in opportunities to learn and grow as professionals and enhance theinstructional core.25. Works with the Principal to ensure that all aspects of the schools operation complement,integrate with and advance the Districts strategic plan.26.

Follow school policy and procedures, respecting the boundaries of professional responsibilities,when working with students, colleagues, and families.27. Interact with students, colleagues, parents, and others in a professional manner that is fair andequitable and guided by codes of professional conduct.28. Exhibit attributes of reliable attendance, promptness, dependability, and professional ethics;Use effective communication skills with students, colleagues, families and related agencies(spoken, written and non-verbal); Complete all requested forms, reports, and data collections inan accurate and timely manner; Perform the functions of the position in accordance with the: RIProfessional Teaching Standards; RI Professional Code of Conduct; and all laws, regulations,school district policies, directives, the mission of the district, school-based plans, andadministrative priorities / requests; and Perform other duties as may be assigned and/ornecessary to perform the functions of the position.29. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrators.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month work year.

Salary to be established by the School Committee.EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of theSchool Committee policy on Evaluation of Administrative personnel.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here arerepresentative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functionsof this job. The employee is regularly required to operate a keyboard, to view a computerscreen, and to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Required vision abilities include close vision andthe ability to adjust focus.

The employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach with handsand arms, grasp and manipulate large and small items. The employee is also required to move fromlocation to location, lift items weighing up to 30 pounds, and drive a vehicle. Communicationrequirements include the ability to hear and respond to voice and other sounds in small and largesettings with background noise and to present information orally and in writing. The employee mayneed to engage in CPI restraint and must be able to receive CPI training.WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative ofthose an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
