RECEPTIONIST / OFFICE ASSISTANT
STARTING AT $15 PER HOUR
Position Summary: This is a front-line, non-supervisory position that plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for our company. The Receptionist/Office Assistant provides excellent customer service in person and by phone and supports daily office functions. This position reports directly to the Office Manager. This is a full-time position with office hours from 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: 1 years of office, customer service, or receptionist experience
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Outgoing and engaging personality—able to create a welcoming environment
- Self-starter who anticipates the needs of others and takes initiative
- Excellent verbal communication skills and Professional phone étiquette
- Comfortable learning about the business to better assist customers
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Willingness to assist in the warehouse and perform light physical labor
- Proficient in basic computer tasks (email, scheduling, simple data entry)
- Experience with office telephone systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to walk, stoop, bend, and carry items (up to 25 lbs)
- Required to occasionally go into the warehouse to retrieve customer orders
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods
- Must have full use of hands and fingers for handling phones, office equipment, filing, and computer tasks
- Must be able to hear and understand speech in person and over the phone, including in environments with background noise
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately with professionalism and warmth
- Greet walk-in customers, determine their needs, and ensure timely service
- Assist in filing, document management, and basic data entry
- Retrieving orders from the warehouse as needed to support customer service
- Maintain a tidy, organized front office environment
- Support coworkers and management with general office tasks as requested
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and a servant-hearted approach to helping others
- Look for ways to be helpful without waiting for direction—“see a need, meet a need”
- Represent the values of the company in all interactions
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position primarily works indoors but may require short trips into the warehouse or exterior areas in varying weather conditions. Must be comfortable in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
