Barrett Trailers is hiring a hands-on Plant Manager to manage/ run trailer production and own quality control.
This role is about execution, discipline, and leadership. You will be accountable for production output, weld quality, and on-time delivery. Long hours are expected. This is a leadership role on the shop floor, not behind a desk.
Responsibilities
- Own daily trailer production from start to finish
- Enforce strict production schedules and delivery deadlines
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable welders and shop staff
- Oversee welding operations (aluminum and steel)
- Own quality control for all trailers before delivery
- Inspect welds, fit, finish, and overall build quality
- Catch errors before they reach the customer
- Coordinate with engineering and purchasing to prevent rework
- Train, develop, and discipline employees when required
- Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and workflow efficiency
- Solve problems quickly and keep production moving
Requirements
- Proven experience managing people in a manufacturing or shop environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead men and women
- Solid understanding of welding processes (aluminum and steel)
- Experience with quality control and inspection processes
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Willingness to work long hours and be present on the shop floor
- Strong communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus
