We are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator. This position is responsible for processing payroll for all Midland Asphalt locations (New York state and Pennsylvania) while complying with all state and federal regulations and corporate policies. This is a full-time year round hybrid position.

Job Summary
Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator. This position is responsible for processing payroll for all Midland Asphalt locations (New York state and Pennsylvania) while complying with all state and federal regulations and corporate policies. This is a full-time year round hybrid position.
Main Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 100 hourly construction employees, including certified payrolls
- Computes fringe benefits on a quarterly basis
- Audits and reconciles payroll register on a weekly basis
- Accurately updates job and fringe rates in payroll system on a regular basis
- Works with supervisors to ensure job codes and hours worked are accurate
- Assists employees in answering payroll related questions
- Prepares monthly corporate payroll related reports
- Tracks hourly employee vacation hours and sick hours each payroll processing
- Maintains confidentiality while handling sensitive information in a professional manner
- Other duties as assigned by Regional Controller and Human Resources Manager
- Prior payroll or related experience required
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- High level of accuracy and advanced attention to detail
- Possess knowledge of Federal, State and Local payroll tax regulations
- Prior experience with Davis Bacon payroll laws, prevailing wage, and certified payrolls preferred
- Must have basic computer skills and advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience working with JDE, HeavyJob or SAP a plus
